RIVER TRIPS RUN IN A CUSTOM-BUILT RIVER ROCKET by ROCK PROOF BOATS

A key focus of the Keystone Connection is jet-boat fishing adventures on portions of the middle Allegheny River.  Skimming through shallow river sections, you’ll have access to miles of lightly-fished waters.  Smallmouth bass are available from April to December.  Typical whole-day trips on the middle Allegheny cover 12 to 15 miles of river.

NOTE: CATCH AND RELEASE FOR ALL BASS OUTINGS (and incidentally caught muskies).

All trips are subject to $100 deposit.  Any trips cancelled by guests within two days of the scheduled trip will forfeit deposit.

2025 UPDATE

2024 provided some of the best smallmouth bass fishing on the Allegheny River that I've seen in years.  From early spring through late fall guide trips produced excellent numbers of smallmouth.  Most summer trips -- when the numbers tend to run this highest -- saw 40 to 60 smallies boated.  There was a great representation of sizes, suggesting that recent spawning seasons have been productive.  Along with excellent numbers there were plenty of quality-sized 15 to 21 inch bass in the mix.  The Allegheny was in excellent shape throughout the year, which likely contributed to the great fishing.

Looking forward to this year I'll again be primarily focusing on smallmouth bass trips on the middle Allegheny out of Brady's Bend, Parker, and Kennerdell.  Keystone Power Dam will be a secondary destination, particularly from late April through early June, when the bass action can be outstanding.  Keystone is also a good backup in the case of high water.

During the past two years I've put a lot of effort into crappie fishing on select local waters as well as zeroing in on the walleye patterns on Pymatuning Lake from spring through late fall.  As such, I'll be offering crappie trips when the conditions are right as well as Pymatuning walleye trips.  As of now there will be a full week in both April and May when I'll be available for Pymy/walleye outings.  I'll be providing more details on these outings via my Facebook page as more details emerge.
